Hearing Pioneers Are Crazy

Pioneers are crazy right?
Maybe.  This is the crazy part of the website ;) where we look at anecdotal evidence.  It must be stressed that we're talking about individuals reporting what works for them.  Hard of Hearing Community is an information gatherer.   The ideas are worth thinking about.  Anyone with direct experience please share it.
 Meniers and Hormones
Humans have hormones so this idea applies to men and women.  It follows that they go up and down on a daily basis, according to mood and general wellbeing.
Someone posed a ‘what if' to me.  Guys, please stay a moment.
What if Meniers could be stabilised by use of the contraceptive pill?
A crazy idea?  An acquaintance keeps a record of her bad days because she read about this idea and now she has pinpointed certain times of the month where she feels worse than others.  She is in her late 20's.  The contraceptive pill is used to stabilise other chronic conditions in young women, for example, severe acne in young women. (A chronic condition just means it is long-term.)   We are not saying we agree with that, merely that that happens.  We have no knowledge of which contraceptive pill it is.   That may depend on what suits you.  If you are interested and suffer from Meniers, discuss it with your Doctor.
Although there is no contraceptive pill for men, there must be other possibilities for guys to take hormones.  Male HRT? Vitamin pills?  Again we stress that this is a crazy idea and you take it further entirely at your own risk.  Whether it becomes a pioneering one depends on a lateral thinker or a scientist reading this and saying to themselves:
"What if we did xxx and xxx?
For me, it goes back to the two activity centres in the body: the activation one in the brain and the emotional one in the chest between your ribs, which is frequently diagnosed as  indigestion!  Maybe Meniers needs both to be activated in order to find a cure.
Cures have often seemed crazy to people of the time.
RNID, the largest UK charity for those with hearing issues, is funding PHD students who want to study hearing.  They are not offering a PHD in Tinnitus.  It is a huge step forward.  Meniers is being studied in the US yet it seems to be up to the individual medical professional to pioneer in this area.  If we bring awareness, maybe someone here will think about exploring Menieres treatments.
Most of all, you're not alone.  Feel free to talk about Meniers or give your opinion on something that has worked for you on the forum www.hardofhearingcommunity.co.uk/forums any time.
